Confirmation reminders, annual subscriptions, and dark mode support
š Hi! Remember me? I’m Justin, the guy who writes about Buttondown.
September was a lovely month in Buttondown-land. I bounced around on a handful of different fun projects (and even did some marketing, the bane of my existence, to boot!)
Confirmation reminders
If you’re using Buttondown’s double opt-in feature to get folks to confirm their email address, it’s now a little bit easier to make sure the funnel of folks confirming stays flowing.
You can now remind folks who haven’t confirmed their subscription to do so:

Annual subscriptions
Paid newsletters are a thing in Buttondown. (I need to do a better job about proselytizing this, it seems, as the common reaction to me saying this is “oh really?”). And I’m introducing a number of new features over the next few months to make it easier and more valuable for you to write!
The first (and long overdue) item in this work stream is support for annual subscriptions. This is a staple for periodicals of all types and I’m excited to bring y’all a little more month-to-month financial stability.

Dark mode.
We, uh, support dark mode now. As if you needed another reason to prefer plain-text emails:
That screenshot, by the way, is from Weeknotes! Weeknotes is my weekly development log where I get to write about the day-to-day nitty-gritty (wild bugs, half-finished features, quixotic marketing efforts.) You should subscribe; it’s honestly kind of entertaining!
As always, I love getting emails.
Have a feature request? Want to pick my brain? Just respond: I’d love to hear from you :)
